4 hot dog sausages

4 slices of pizza bread or focaccia

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1/4 cup sliced olives (black or green)

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Sausages: Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium heat. Cook the hot dog sausages for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and heated through. Remove from heat and slice them lengthwise.

    Spread Sauce: On each slice of pizza bread, spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly.

      Add the Fillings: Place the sliced hot dog sausages on top of the sauce. Then, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sausages.

        Top with Veggies: Scatter the sliced olives, diced bell peppers, and chopped red onion over the cheese. Season with garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

          Grill the Sandwiches: Heat olive oil in the skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the prepared sandwich in the skillet and cover with a lid. Grill for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bottom is golden brown. Flip carefully and grill the other side for another 3-5 minutes.
