Garlic Bread Meatball Subs

Zutaten
  

12 small meatballs (beef or turkey)

4 sub rolls (preferably garlic bread or toasted)

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

    Cook Meatballs: In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat and cook the meatballs for about 8-10 minutes until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.

      Add Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce over the cooked meatballs, stirring gently to coat. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce is heated through.

        Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the remaining olive oil with minced garlic, oregano, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

          Prepare Sub Rolls: Cut the sub rolls lengthwise and brush the garlic butter mixture generously inside and outside of the rolls.

            Toast Rolls: Place the rolls on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden and crispy.

              Assemble Subs: Remove the toasted rolls from the oven. Spoon 3 meatballs with sauce into each sub roll, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

                Melt Cheese: Place the assembled subs back in the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

                  Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve while warm.
