12 mozzarella sticks

12 slices of bacon

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup Nashville hot chicken seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

A splash of buttermilk (optional for marinating)

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    If desired, soak the mozzarella sticks in buttermilk for about 30 minutes to enhance flavor and moisture.

      While the mozzarella sits, prepare the bacon: cook it in a pan over medium heat until it’s partially cooked but still flexible (about 3-4 minutes). It should not be crisp. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

        Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with the smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a third.

          Working with one mozzarella stick at a time, first coat it in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each stick is fully coated.

            Wrap each breaded mozzarella stick with a slice of partially cooked bacon, starting from one end and spiraling down to the other. Secure the ends with toothpicks if necessary.

              Arrange the bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly sprinkle Nashville hot chicken seasoning on top of each stick, adjusting the amount based on your heat preference.

                Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melting.

                  Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
